Bloomsbury, Hunterdon County
Bloomsbury is a borough of under one square mile on the south bank of the Musconetcong River, in the northwest corner of Hunterdon County. It borders Bethlehem Township and, across the river, Franklin, Greenwich, and Pohatcong townships in Warren County. Interstate 78 and Route 22 run along its north side, with Exit 7 at Route 173, and County Route 579 passes through town. The 2020 census counted 792 residents, and the borough had about 360 housing units in 2010.
The Highlands Council lists all 632 acres of Bloomsbury in the Highlands Preservation Area, even though the borough has a compact village center. Buyers who plan to expand a house or build on a lot may need to look into Highlands rules first. We buy Bloomsbury homes without that contingency.
The Musconetcong forms Bloomsbury's northern edge and its line with Warren County. Homes close to the river may raise flood-zone and insurance questions for a buyer's lender. Because we pay cash, no lender has to sign off on a flood determination before closing.
Bloomsbury was once known as Johnson's Iron Works, and its name may come from wrought-iron blooms. It was set off from Bethlehem Township in 1905, and Norfolk Southern's Lehigh Line still runs through its southwest corner. If your house here needs updating, we buy it as-is, with no repair list.

Questions from Bloomsbury sellers
Not necessarily. The 08804 ZIP code also serves parts of Bethlehem and Holland townships, so check your tax bill for the municipality. We buy in the borough and in both townships.
Yes. We buy houses throughout the borough, including those near the Lehigh Line tracks and the highway, and we price them on the property itself.
In New Jersey, an inherited house is sold through the estate, so the executor or court-appointed administrator signs the sale. We talk with each heir separately and privately, so no one has to negotiate as a group, and we'll walk you through getting an administrator appointed if that hasn't happened yet.
Thirty days is typical, and clean files can move faster. If you need more time, we'll write the date you want into the contract.
