Burlington City, Burlington County
Burlington City sits on the Delaware River across from Bristol, Pennsylvania, connected by the Burlington-Bristol Bridge, which opened in 1931. Burlington Township surrounds it on the New Jersey side. Founded by English settlers in 1677, it was the capital of West Jersey until 1702 and the county seat until 1796. About 9,700 people live in the city, which has about 4,500 housing units, the Revell House from 1685, Old St. Mary's Church, and two River Line stations.
The city has two districts on the National Register, High Street and the Burlington Historic District. Its Historic Preservation Commission may require a Certificate of Appropriateness before exterior work on windows, doors, siding, roofing, porches, or fencing in the local Historic District. Buyers planning renovations have to budget for that review. We buy historic homes as-is.
With buildings dating to the 1600s and 1700s, Burlington has housing that has been altered many times over. Old foundations, dated wiring, and past repairs often show up at inspection. We do not ask for repairs or a clean inspection report before closing.
Burlington South and Burlington Towne Centre stations put the city on the River Line between Trenton and Camden, and Route 130 and the bridge to Bristol carry traffic through town. The 2020 census counted about 11 percent of housing units as vacant. We buy vacant houses and occupied rentals alike.

Questions from Burlington City sellers
Selling a house does not require commission approval. Exterior work in the Historic District may need a Certificate of Appropriateness, and we buy the home as it is without asking you to do that work.
Yes. We buy vacant and inherited homes in any condition and can close on a timeline that works for you or the estate.
In New Jersey, an inherited house is sold through the estate, so the executor or court-appointed administrator signs the sale. We talk with each heir separately and privately, so no one has to negotiate as a group, and we'll walk you through getting an administrator appointed if that hasn't happened yet.
Thirty days is typical, and clean files can move faster. If you need more time, we'll write the date you want into the contract.
Yes. We're a New Jersey company based in Toms River, and we buy in all 21 counties, including Burlington County. We are BBB accredited with an A+ rating, listed under our affiliate Gembrook Properties.
