Clayton, Gloucester County
Clayton is a borough of a little over seven square miles in central Gloucester County, bordered by Glassboro and by Monroe, Franklin, and Elk townships. Route 47 is the main road through town, Route 55 runs along the southwestern edge, and NJ Transit buses connect to Philadelphia. The settlement started as Fislertown after the Revolution and grew around a glass factory that opened in the 1850s. Roughly a third of the borough is parkland, including Silver Lake and part of a state wildlife management area.
Clayton grew around a glass factory opened in the 1850s by a descendant of founder Jacob Fisler, and the borough itself dates to 1887. If you own one of the older houses near the center of town, a buyer's inspector will look hard at wiring, plumbing, roof, and foundation. We buy the house as it stands, so those findings do not become repair demands.
About one-third of Clayton is parkland, and the Glassboro Wildlife Management Area covers close to 2,400 acres across Clayton, Glassboro, and Monroe. Homes that back up to woods or water can raise survey, drainage, and wetlands questions that slow a financed sale. We buy these properties for cash and handle those questions on our side.
The 2020 census counted about 3,400 housing units in Clayton, and the homeowner vacancy rate was under 2 percent. A small market can mean few recent comparable sales, which makes appraisals on unusual or dated houses harder for a buyer's lender. A cash offer from us does not depend on an appraisal.

Questions from Clayton sellers
Yes. We buy inherited and vacant homes in Clayton as-is, including ones still full of belongings, and we can work around the estate's probate timeline.
No. We buy homes with drainage or water problems in their current condition, and you do not need to fix grading or basements before closing.
In New Jersey, an inherited house is sold through the estate, so the executor or court-appointed administrator signs the sale. We talk with each heir separately and privately, so no one has to negotiate as a group, and we'll walk you through getting an administrator appointed if that hasn't happened yet.
Thirty days is typical, and clean files can move faster. If you need more time, we'll write the date you want into the contract.
