Pennington, Mercer County
Pennington is a borough of just under one square mile completely surrounded by Hopewell Township. First called Queenstown and later Pennytown, it took the name Pennington by 1747 and became a borough in 1890. Route 31 runs through town to I-295, and the Victorian railroad station built by the Reading Railroad in 1882 is on the National Register. The borough had about 1,090 housing units in 2020 and is also home to the Pennington School.
Pennington was a named village by 1747, more than a century before it became a borough in 1890, and the 1882 railroad station still stands. Homes in an old village can have outdated electrical, plumbing, or heating systems that a buyer's inspector flags. We buy Pennington homes in their current condition, with no repairs required.
Pennington recorded nearly 7 inches of rain during the remnants of Hurricane Ida in 2021, and nearby roads such as Pennington-Rocky Hill Road and Pennington-Titusville Road were closed. Basement water and drainage problems can turn up in a buyer's inspection. We buy the house without asking you to fix them.
Pennington was formed from Hopewell Township after a January 1890 referendum, and it keeps its own tax office, construction permits, and inspections. Because the township surrounds the borough on every side, sellers sometimes aren't sure which municipality handles their property. We check the records and buy in Pennington or the surrounding township.

Questions from Pennington sellers
Yes. We buy Pennington homes as-is for cash, including houses with older systems or deferred maintenance.
We buy inherited houses for cash and can close on a date that works for the estate, with belongings left in place if needed.
In New Jersey, an inherited house is sold through the estate, so the executor or court-appointed administrator signs the sale. We talk with each heir separately and privately, so no one has to negotiate as a group, and we'll walk you through getting an administrator appointed if that hasn't happened yet.
Thirty days is typical, and clean files can move faster. If you need more time, we'll write the date you want into the contract.
