Pitman, Gloucester County
Pitman is a borough of about 8,800 residents between Glassboro, Mantua Township, and Washington Township. It began in 1871 as a Methodist camp meeting ground, where tents gave way to cottages arranged on twelve avenues radiating from a central auditorium. Those cottages became the core of the town, which was incorporated in 1905. Broadway is the main business street, and the Uptown district has added breweries since the borough dropped its long-standing dry status in the mid-2010s. Pitman is a planned stop on the Glassboro-Camden light rail line.
Pitman Grove, listed on the National Register in 1977 with 349 contributing buildings, centers on a circular park with cottages lining twelve avenues like spokes of a wheel. The district includes Second Empire and Italianate buildings, and small houses on close lots can need costly, careful repairs. We buy Grove cottages as-is, without restoration first.
Broadway is Pitman's main business street. Pitman was dry until 2014, and breweries opened in the Uptown district in 2016 after the council allowed liquor licenses. Homes near the business district can include older multi-unit or mixed-use buildings. We buy these properties with tenants in place.
Pitman is slated for a stop on the planned Glassboro-Camden Line, whose target date has already moved more than once. The 2020 census counted about 3,700 housing units, many on long-established streets. If your house needs work and you would rather not wait on future projects, we buy it now for cash.

In New Jersey, an inherited house is sold through the estate, so the executor or court-appointed administrator signs the sale. We talk with each heir separately and privately, so no one has to negotiate as a group, and we'll walk you through getting an administrator appointed if that hasn't happened yet.
Thirty days is typical, and clean files can move faster. If you need more time, we'll write the date you want into the contract.
