Rumson, Monmouth County
Rumson is a borough of about 7,300 people on a neck of land between the Navesink and Shrewsbury rivers, bordered by Fair Haven, Little Silver, Middletown, and Sea Bright, with Oceanport and Monmouth Beach across the water. Formed from Shrewsbury Township in 1907, it was a summer colony for New York bankers and industrialists around 1900, and many of its historic estates still sit along the riverbanks. Localities include Oceanic, East Oceanic, Rumson Hills, Rumson Bluffs, Elsemere, and Waterloo. The 2020 census counted about 2,600 housing units.
Rumson's housing includes Gilded Age estates and older historic homes, such as the 1870 Lauriston Mansion, listed on the National Register and later flagged as endangered over a demolition proposal. Large older houses carry heavy upkeep for roofs, systems, and grounds. We buy older Rumson homes as-is, including those that need full restoration.
With about 2 of its 7 square miles under water, Rumson has long stretches of Navesink and Shrewsbury river frontage. Waterfront and low-lying homes can face flood-zone, insurance, and bulkhead questions that slow a financed sale. We pay cash and buy riverside homes in their current condition.
English settlers began buying Rumson land in 1665, and the Tredwell House, the borough's oldest home with origins in 1670, was lost to fire in 2006. Homes of great age can hide outdated wiring, old heating, and structural wear that a buyer's inspector will flag. We buy older Rumson homes, including fire- or water-damaged ones, as they are.

Questions from Rumson sellers
Yes. We buy older and historic Rumson houses as-is for cash and handle the renovation after closing.
We account for the home's condition and location, but because we pay cash, a lender's flood-insurance requirements do not hold up the sale.
In New Jersey, an inherited house is sold through the estate, so the executor or court-appointed administrator signs the sale. We talk with each heir separately and privately, so no one has to negotiate as a group, and we'll walk you through getting an administrator appointed if that hasn't happened yet.
Thirty days is typical, and clean files can move faster. If you need more time, we'll write the date you want into the contract.
Yes. We're a New Jersey company based in Toms River, and we buy in all 21 counties, including Monmouth County. We are BBB accredited with an A+ rating, listed under our affiliate Gembrook Properties.
