Somers Point, Atlantic County
Somers Point is a bayfront city of about 10,500 people on the northern shore of Great Egg Harbor Bay, across from Ocean City. It borders Linwood, Egg Harbor Township, and Longport, and connects to Cape May County by the Route 52 causeway and the Garden State Parkway bridge. Shore Medical Center is its largest employer. The 2020 census counted about 5,600 housing units.
John Somers bought land here in 1693, making it the oldest European settlement in present-day Atlantic County, and Somers Mansion, built by 1726, is the county's oldest standing home. The city incorporated in 1886. Many homes have decades of history and repairs. We buy older Somers Point houses as-is.
A new Route 52 causeway to Ocean City opened in 2012 after a $400 million state project, and the old Beesley's Point Bridge was demolished in 2013 during a Parkway bridge project. Somers Point sits at the gateway to the barrier islands, and bayside homes face the same flood insurance questions as shore properties. We pay cash, without lender requirements.
Shore Medical Center employs about 1,500 people and has nearly 300 beds, so many of the city's renters work nearby. If you own a rental in Somers Point, you may have tenants in place. We buy rentals with tenants and leases as they are.
