Stanhope, Sussex County
Stanhope is a borough of about 3,500 residents in the southernmost part of Sussex County, bordering Byram, Hopatcong, and Mount Olive, Netcong, and Roxbury in Morris County. Part of Lake Musconetcong lies within the borough, and the Morris Canal once ran through town past an iron works. Route 183 is the main road, U.S. Route 206 crosses the western section, and I-80 bypasses the borough. The 2020 census counted about 1,500 homes.
The Morris Canal ran through Stanhope, and the Plaster Mill, part of an iron works along the canal, was listed on the National Register in 1977. A canal section near Lock 1 West and Lake Musconetcong is still noted today. Older houses in the borough's historic core can need repairs a buyer's inspector will flag. We buy them as-is.
Part of Lake Musconetcong lies in Stanhope, and the Musconetcong River runs along the line with Netcong. Properties close to the lake and river can face flood-insurance and drainage questions during a financed sale. We buy for cash, so those questions don't decide whether you can close.
Route 183, the old Route 206, runs through the borough, and the Route 206 Netcong Bypass connects to I-80 in Mount Olive. Lakeland Bus Lines runs along I-80 to Manhattan's Port Authority. Easy road access doesn't fix a house that fails a buyer's inspection or appraisal. We buy without either contingency.

Questions from Stanhope sellers
Yes. We buy Stanhope homes near the lake and the Musconetcong River in their current condition, for cash.
No. Stanhope was formed from part of Byram Township in 1904 and has been a separate borough since. We buy houses in both.
In New Jersey, an inherited house is sold through the estate, so the executor or court-appointed administrator signs the sale. We talk with each heir separately and privately, so no one has to negotiate as a group, and we'll walk you through getting an administrator appointed if that hasn't happened yet.
Thirty days is typical, and clean files can move faster. If you need more time, we'll write the date you want into the contract.
