Stockton, Hunterdon County
Stockton is a borough of about 0.6 square miles on the Delaware River just north of Lambertville, with about 12% of its area in water. It is bordered by Delaware Township and, across the river, by Solebury Township in Pennsylvania, reached by the toll-free Centre Bridge–Stockton Bridge. The Delaware and Raritan Canal and the restored Prallsville Mills sit at the edge of town. The 2020 census counted 495 residents.
The Delaware forms Stockton's western boundary, and the Prallsville Mills property has been part of the D&R Canal State Park since 1973. A January 1841 flood destroyed the original covered bridge here. Homes near the water can come with flood-zone issues; because we pay cash, no lender has to approve them.
Stockton had just 259 housing units in the 2010 census. With so few comparable sales, an appraisal for a financed buyer can come in short or take time. Our offer does not depend on an appraisal, so the price we agree on is the price at closing.
Once called Reading Ferry and later Howell's Ferry, Stockton took its name with the 1851 railroad station and post office and became a borough in 1898, carved from Delaware Township. The Stockton Inn dates to 1710. If you own an older house here that needs work, we buy it as-is.

Questions from Stockton sellers
Stockton is a separate borough, and on the New Jersey side Delaware Township is its only neighbor, so check your tax bill. We buy in the borough and the township alike.
Yes. We buy houses throughout Stockton, near the canal and river or up the hill, for cash and as-is.
In New Jersey, an inherited house is sold through the estate, so the executor or court-appointed administrator signs the sale. We talk with each heir separately and privately, so no one has to negotiate as a group, and we'll walk you through getting an administrator appointed if that hasn't happened yet.
Thirty days is typical, and clean files can move faster. If you need more time, we'll write the date you want into the contract.
