Swedesboro, Gloucester County
Swedesboro is a borough of less than one square mile on Raccoon Creek, entirely surrounded by Woolwich Township, which makes it one of New Jersey's doughnut towns. Settled as part of New Sweden around 1650 and first called Raccoon, it was renamed Swedesboro in 1765 and became a borough in 1902. Trinity Church, known as Old Swedes, was established in 1703, and its present building dates to 1784. County Routes 538 and 551 run through town, with Route 322 and the New Jersey Turnpike nearby in Woolwich.
Swedesboro's National Register sites include Trinity "Old Swedes" Church and the Van Leer Log Cabin, a former trading post. Homes in an old town center can have additions and repairs from many eras, which inspectors tend to flag. We buy older Swedesboro houses as they are, so you skip the repair negotiations.
Raccoon Creek runs along the north side of Swedesboro, where it becomes tidal, and in the late 1800s it carried farm produce to Philadelphia. Homes near the creek may fall in a mapped flood zone, which affects insurance and lending. We buy creekside Swedesboro homes for cash, regardless of flood designation.
Swedesboro has its own borough government and tax rate even though Woolwich surrounds it on every side. The 2020 census counted about 1,000 housing units in the borough. We confirm whether a property is in Swedesboro or Woolwich before we make an offer, so taxes and title are handled correctly.

Not with us. We buy for cash, so there is no lender requiring flood insurance before closing.
Yes. We buy Swedesboro homes as-is, including houses that need major repairs or a full clean-out.
In New Jersey, an inherited house is sold through the estate, so the executor or court-appointed administrator signs the sale. We talk with each heir separately and privately, so no one has to negotiate as a group, and we'll walk you through getting an administrator appointed if that hasn't happened yet.
Thirty days is typical, and clean files can move faster. If you need more time, we'll write the date you want into the contract.
