Woodstown, Salem County
Woodstown is a borough of about 1.6 square miles completely surrounded by Pilesgrove Township, the more densely settled commercial center of a largely agricultural area. It was set off from Pilesgrove by referendum in 1882 and named for early settler Jackanias Wood. U.S. 40 and Route 45 cross in town, and NJ Transit buses run to Salem, Penns Grove, and Philadelphia. The 2020 census counted about 3,700 residents and 1,600 housing units.
Three Woodstown homes, the Zaccheus Dunn House, the Joseph Shinn House, and the James and Mary Lawson House, are on the National Register of Historic Places, and the Woodstown Friends Meetinghouse stands in the borough. Older houses can need roof, foundation, or wiring work that buyers' inspectors flag. We buy them as they stand.
In 2020 only about 4 percent of Woodstown's housing units were vacant, with a homeowner vacancy rate under 2 percent. Demand like that helps sellers, but a house needing major repairs, or one tied up in an estate, may still not suit a buyer with a mortgage. We buy as-is so you can skip repairs and showings.
Woodstown and Pilesgrove share a regional school district, but they are separate municipalities with separate local governments, and Woodstown is entirely enclosed by the township. Deeds, tax bills, and municipal approvals have to match the right town. We confirm that before closing, so your sale is recorded correctly.

Questions from Woodstown sellers

No. We buy houses with contents inside, so you can take what matters to your family and leave the rest for us.
In New Jersey, an inherited house is sold through the estate, so the executor or court-appointed administrator signs the sale. We talk with each heir separately and privately, so no one has to negotiate as a group, and we'll walk you through getting an administrator appointed if that hasn't happened yet.
Thirty days is typical, and clean files can move faster. If you need more time, we'll write the date you want into the contract.
