Island Heights, Ocean County
Island Heights is a small borough on a bluff about 60 feet above the Toms River, bordered by Toms River Township and, across the river, Berkeley Township. It began in 1878 as a Methodist camp meeting ground and became a borough in 1887, separated from Dover Township. Much of the town is a National Register historic district. Route 37 runs along its northern edge, and about 1,650 people lived there in 2020.
The Island Heights Association formed a camp meeting site in 1878, similar to Ocean Grove, and summer cottages followed the first gatherings. Houses dating from the town's early decades can carry old framing, foundations, and wiring. Inspections on houses this age can turn up long repair lists. We buy older Island Heights homes as they are.
The Island Heights Historic District, listed on the National Register in 1980, covers about 280 acres and 244 contributing buildings, including the Queen Anne-style John F. Peto studio and the scrollwork-trimmed Grenley House. Owners of older homes in the district often face costly upkeep. We buy historic-district houses without asking you to restore or update them.
Island Heights sits on the Toms River, and about a third of the borough's area is water. Homes on the bluff and along the riverfront draw interest, but low-lying lots near the shoreline can bring flood-zone and insurance questions for a financed buyer. We buy riverfront and bluff homes for cash, without lender conditions.

Yes. You can take what you want and leave the rest; we handle the cleanout after closing.
In New Jersey, an inherited house is sold through the estate, so the executor or court-appointed administrator signs the sale. We talk with each heir separately and privately, so no one has to negotiate as a group, and we'll walk you through getting an administrator appointed if that hasn't happened yet.
