Medford Lakes, Burlington County
Medford Lakes is a borough of about 1.3 square miles in the Pinelands, surrounded entirely by Medford Township. County Routes 532 and 541 are its main roads. It began in 1927 as a lake resort laid out by the Medford Lakes Development Company, became a borough in 1939, and over the following decades shifted from summer cottages to year-round living. The borough holds 22 lakes, and its houses range from resort-era cedar log cabins to later homes on wooded lots.
More than 10% of Medford Lakes homes are log cabins built from imported cedar logs, with wiring and plumbing run through the chinking or through holes bored in the logs. Updating old wiring, plumbing, or chinking in a log home is specialized work, and some buyers and inspectors are unfamiliar with it. We buy log cabins as they stand, without asking you to modernize them first.
The borough's 22 lakes and its recreation facilities are managed by the Medford Lakes Colony, a community association that dates to the resort years. When a house changes hands, buyers and title companies look at how membership and any charges carry over. We work through those details as part of a cash purchase so the sale does not stall on paperwork.
In July 2004 more than seven inches of rain fell in about 14 hours. Several dams failed, including the Quogue Dam and the Upper and Lower Aetna Lake dams, and parts of Ballinger Run rose above 500-year flood levels. Homes near the water can raise flood-insurance and inspection questions for a financed buyer. We buy without those contingencies.

Questions from Medford Lakes sellers
Yes. We buy log homes in their current condition, including ones with dated systems or deferred maintenance, and you do not need to make repairs before closing.
The whole borough lies inside the state-designated Pinelands Area. We buy existing homes there as-is for cash, so you do not need to arrange repairs or improvements before the sale.
In New Jersey, an inherited house is sold through the estate, so the executor or court-appointed administrator signs the sale. We talk with each heir separately and privately, so no one has to negotiate as a group, and we'll walk you through getting an administrator appointed if that hasn't happened yet.
Thirty days is typical, and clean files can move faster. If you need more time, we'll write the date you want into the contract.
