Millville, Cumberland County
Millville is a city of about 27,500 on the Maurice River in Cumberland County, bordered by Commercial, Deerfield, Downe, Fairfield, Lawrence, and Maurice River townships and Vineland. Routes 47, 49, and 55 run through it. Known as the Holly City, it grew around glassmaking from 1806 on, and its housing reflects that: older homes near downtown and the Glasstown Arts District, and houses near Union Lake and the river. The 2020 census counted about 11,600 housing units.
James Lee opened Millville's first glass factory in 1806, and by the 1870s Millville Manufacturing employed about 600 people. Many older homes near downtown were built in those years. Original wiring, plumbing, and foundations on houses that age often show up in buyers' inspections. We buy them as-is.
Union Lake was formed by damming the Maurice and Mill rivers, and the surrounding wildlife management area covers about 5,000 acres. Homes near the lake and river can draw flood-zone questions from lenders. A cash sale does not depend on that review.
Parts of Millville are in a joint Urban Enterprise Zone with Vineland, and downtown has the Glasstown Arts District and the restored Levoy Theatre. If you own an older rental or multi-unit near downtown, selling with tenants in place can scare off owner-occupant buyers. We buy rentals occupied or vacant and handle tenants after closing.

In New Jersey, an inherited house is sold through the estate, so the executor or court-appointed administrator signs the sale. We talk with each heir separately and privately, so no one has to negotiate as a group, and we'll walk you through getting an administrator appointed if that hasn't happened yet.
Thirty days is typical, and clean files can move faster. If you need more time, we'll write the date you want into the contract.
