Boonton Town, Morris County
Boonton is a small town in eastern Morris County, bordered by Boonton Township, Montville, Mountain Lakes, and Parsippany-Troy Hills. The Rockaway River runs through the Boonton Gorge below downtown, past a 25-foot waterfall in Grace Lord Park. The town grew around an iron works on the river in the 1800s, and Interstate 287 and Route 202 now run through its center. The 2020 census counted about 8,800 residents in roughly 3,500 homes.
Much of older Boonton sits in the Boonton Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and includes two octagon houses on Cornelia Street. Older homes in and around the district can come with aging wiring, plumbing, and foundations that buyers' inspectors flag. We buy older Boonton houses as they stand, without repair requests.
Boonton grew up around the New Jersey Iron Company, incorporated in 1830, and the town itself was formed in 1866. The area between Plane Street and the river, called the Hollow, still holds remnants of the old ironworks. In a town this old, title histories and property records can run long. We handle the closing details and buy for cash.
Boonton station is on NJ Transit's Montclair-Boonton Line, with service toward Newark, Hoboken, and New York Penn Station, and I-287 cuts through town. That access keeps buyer interest steady, but a house that needs work still has to pass a buyer's lender and inspector. A cash sale skips the financing contingency.
