Hackensack, Bergen County
Hackensack is Bergen County's seat and its most populous municipality, with about 46,000 people on the west bank of the Hackensack River. It borders Bogota, Hasbrouck Heights, Little Ferry, Lodi, Maywood, Paramus, Ridgefield Park, River Edge, South Hackensack, Teaneck, and Teterboro. Settled as New Barbadoes, it became the City of Hackensack in 1921. Interstate 80, Route 17, and Route 4 serve the city, and Pascack Valley Line trains stop at Anderson Street and Essex Street. Hackensack University Medical Center and the Bergen County Court House are here.
Hackensack has a mile-long high-rise district along Prospect Avenue, single-family neighborhoods mostly on the west side, older two-family neighborhoods, large garden apartment complexes, and older homes on acre-plus lots. Two-family owners often sell with tenants in place. We buy single-family and two-family houses, occupied or vacant, as-is.
Hackensack has been the county seat since 1710, and the Bergen County Court House stands here. If you're an executor or heir, we can sign a contract while the estate is administered and close when you have authority to sell.
The Court Street, Midtown, and Anderson Street bridges cross the river, and a river walkway is planned with the redevelopment of the former Record campus. Houses on low ground near the river can carry flood-zone and insurance questions. We check flood status and buy the house as it stands.

Questions from Hackensack sellers
Yes. We buy occupied two-family houses and take over the leases at closing.
We can sign once you're appointed, and close when you have authority to convey. We work directly with the estate's attorney.
In New Jersey, an inherited house is sold through the estate, so the executor or court-appointed administrator signs the sale. We talk with each heir separately and privately, so no one has to negotiate as a group, and we'll walk you through getting an administrator appointed if that hasn't happened yet.
Thirty days is typical, and clean files can move faster. If you need more time, we'll write the date you want into the contract.
Yes. We're a New Jersey company based in Toms River, and we buy in all 21 counties, including Bergen County. We are BBB accredited with an A+ rating, listed under our affiliate Gembrook Properties.
